Retardar ACR is a retarding agent for dyeing of acrylic and its blends (fibre, yarn, fabric, a garment with cationic dyes). It has a high affinity for acrylic fibres. It regulates the strike rate of cationic dyes by competing with dyes for active groups in the fibre. The product is used for leveling of faulty dyeings on acrylics. Acrylic fibres can be dyed by either batch or by the continuous process.

Retarder-ACR* 0.6-1.2% is recommended as a retarder in acrylic dyeing. A concentration of Retarder-ACR is inversely proportional to the depth of shade. For fibres with a higher rate of dyeing, a higher concentration of retarder-ACR is recommended.
Procedure to prepare 25% diluted product of 80% Retarder-ACR
Preservation: It is recommended to add 0.1% Bronopol (2-Bromo,2-nitropropane, 1,3-diol) or Methyl Paraben (methyl para hydroxy benzoate) as an antimicrobial agent to avoid fungal/microbial growth.
Un-dissolved particles if any can be filtered off
