Saraguard-5700 is a methanol free antibacterial and antiviral agent which is suitable for all types of textile substrate. Saraguard-5700 can be applied by padding, exhaust, soaking and spraying methods. Saraguard-5700 is non-leaching antimicrobial agent and is durable to multiple home launderings. It shows antibacterial and antifungal activity by contact mechanism. Saraguard-5700 shows excellent antimicrobial activity on non-woven substrates also. Saraguard-5700 will provide protection against wide range of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria's, fungi and wide range of viruses. Saraguard-5700 is suitable for application persona1 protective equipment/ clothing (PPE)used in medical and other textile industries.

Soaking Method 

Prepare 1-4% solution of Saraguard-5700 depending on the durability required in a vessel. Introduce the fabric in the vessel containing Saraguard-5700 solution and soak the fabric for 20-30 minutes at 30-40deg. C with intermittent stirring. Unload the fabric and hydro extract it to remove excess liquor, without rinsing. Dry the fabric at approximately 140°C 

Prepare 2-6% solution of Saraguard-5700 depending on the durability required in a vessel. Spray the solution on the fabric using a spray gun then dry the fabric at approximately 140°C 

Precautions :

The product is supplied in the anhydrous form. The product to be diluted with water just before a treatment only when ready for the processing of textiles. Once added to the pad bath/exhaust bath the stability of such a bath is limited; due to hydrolysis of the active ingredients in our antimicrobial leading to self cross-linking. Hence, a padding bath containing Saraguard-5700 should be used up in the shortest time possible, as extended storage of such bath would lead to a formulation of insoluble particles which may settle as precipitation and reduces performance.

Kindly note that the product is readily dilutable and stored in anhydrous polar solvents like methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol or low molecular weight glycols like MEG or DEG.

Test Results :

• Cotton, polyester and their blended fabrics finished with 60 g/l Saraguard-5700 show 80-95% reduction in a bacterial count by AATCC-100 after 20 Home Launderings.
• Polyamide and acrylic fabrics finished with 60 g/l Saraguard-5700 shows 95-100% reduction in a bacterial count by AATCC 100 method.

• Take BDG in a dry vessel
• To this gradually add butyl di-glycol under constant stirring
• Continue stirring till a homogenous product is obtained

Even one drop of water will polymerise the material so, care should be taken that there should not be water at any stage of dilution or during packing.

Storage : Store in cool, ventilated shed away from heat and direct sunlight. Storage temperature should not exceed 35 deg C.Close lids firmly to avoid contact with air and moisture.

Shelf Life : 9 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under controlled conditions.
