FLAMGUARD-CAB | Flame Retardant by Back coating

Product Information

Flamguard-CAB is a durable flame retardant for 100% polyester, applicable by back coating application. It is suitable for automotive textiles, upholstery fabrics and technical textiles made from 100% polyester and polyester rich blend. Flamguard-CAB is halogen and formaldehyde free. Fabric finished with Flamguard-CAB imparts high flame retardancy and water resistance. Flamguard-CAB has no objectionable odour or fumes and does not lead to fogging. It imparts a durable, non-hygroscopic, non-corrosive, non-plasticizing & thermally stable flame retardant properties to the treated substrate. Finish is stable to the outdoor exposure i.e. UV radiation, heat & humid aging.

Application
  1.  Coating Application : one or two sided coating application using a floating or fixed knife, a kiss or transfer roll or other suitable coating equipment can be used to apply on fabrics. By coating: add 50-70 g/sq.mt of Flamguard-CAB, dry at 150ºC for 10 mins. Dry add on of minimum 15-20% is required to pass this will depend on the test method also.
  2. Printing Application : In cases where a continuous film, which is obtained by coating, is objectionable, the flame retardant can be applied by printing to form a discontinuous film. It can also be incorporated into print pastes, which will be applied to non-flammable substrates. 
  3. Foam Application : It is foam able using conventional, foaming equipment & small amount of foaming agent. 

Flamguard-CAB can pass following Tests:

  2.  NFPA-701 
  3.  BS-5852 
  4.  BS-5867 
  5.  ASTM-D6413
Precautions

Storage : Store in cool, ventilated shed away from heat and direct sunlight. Storage temperature should not exceed 35 deg C. Close lids firmly to avoid contact with air and moisture. 

Shelf Life : 9 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under controlled conditions.
