NYLOFIX-993

NYLOFIX-993 | Acid Stable Polyamide Dye Fixing Agent

Product Information

Nylofix-993 is a low dusting powder dyefixing agent for polyamide and their blends dyed/printed with acid and metal complex dyestuffs. It is readily soluble in water. Polyamide fabric dyefixed with Nylofix-993 shows improvement in wet fastness properties. It acts as a leveling agent for Nylon/Wool blend for achieving solid even dyeing. It also acts a reserving agent for Nylon/cotton blend fabrics. Nylofix-993 is stable under acidic condition this can be used for various application.

Applications

I. Exhaust application to improve wet fastness of Polyamide

Nylofix-993
0.5-1.5% (depending on depth of shade)
Bath pH
2.5-3 (with Citric acid)
Bath Temp.
70-80 deg. C
Time
15-20 min.

II. Exhaust application for Wool / Nylon blend for solid shade

Nylofix-993 is added to the bath containing approximately 2g/l Citric acid and other auxiliaries. Treatment to be carried out for 20 min at 50-60 deg. C before adding dye and then dyeing to be carried out. The concentration of Nylofix-993 depends on type of dye and depth of shade, dyeing method and fibre blends. Generally, more quantity of Nylofix-993 is required for high dye affinity and pale shades and less quantity is required for darker shades.

III. Exhaust application for Nylon / Cellulose blend for solid shade

Nylofix-993 is added to the dyebath to prevent staining of nylon fibre with direct dyes depending on the depth of shade.

Note: ----- 1. The handle of the fabrics may change slightly (becoming firmer, fuller), depending on the amount of Nylofix-993 used, the fabric construction, and the temperature during drying or post-setting.

2. The optimum concentration of Nylofix-993 can vary depending on type of polyamide. Generally, higher concentration are required for Nylon 6 than for Nylon 66. It is advisable to carry out the after treatment at 70 deg. C

The effects obtained by after treating with Nylofix-993 are stable to dry heat at the usual setting temperatures, but can be impaired by intense pressure steaming. Increasing the amount of Nylofix-993 will often improve the stability of the dyefixation to steaming. Polyamide material treated with Nylofix-993 is difficult to re-dye or over-dye. Nylofix-993 should therefore be stripped first before re-dyeing.

Removal of Nylofix-993 from substrate

2 g/l ammonia 24%

2-3 g/l detergent

Run for 10-20 minutes at 80-90 deg. C followed by rinsing.

Instructions For Dilution

Procedure to prepare 35% Nylofix-993

- Take 65 parts of DM water at room temperature or 60-80 deg. C

- To this, gradually add 35 parts of Nylofix-993 with constant stirring.

- Continue stirring for 30 min to obtain homogeneous product.

Note:

- Appearance of solution may change from yellow to brown on storage

- If solution to be stored at freezing temperature, then addition of 5-10% diethylene glycol is recommended

Preservation:

It is recommended to add 0.1% Bronopol (2-Bromo, 2-nitropropane, Paraben (methyl para hydroxy benzoate) as an antimicrobial agent to avoid fungal/microbial growth.

It is advisable to utilize the diluted product within 2 months. Stir well before use.
