The stabilizers are added to regulate the perhydroxyl ions to prevent rapid decomposition of bleach bath and fiber damage. 

These may act by 

  • Buffering action 
  • Sequestering of heavy transition metal ions & 
  • Complexing with perhydroxy ions dispersing action.
